How it plays

Small boards.
Big words.

Each level gives you a shaped board, a few starter letters, a goal and a handful of words to spend. Spend them well.

A new goal every level

Thaw the frost, dig up the gems, find the den, smash the stones, or simply rack up points. Reach it before your words run out.

Stuff in your way

Stones crack when you build next to them. Darker rock takes more hits, locks only open for long words, and the bosses bring their own mess.

Questions

Good to know.

What kind of game is WordWild?

A single-player word puzzle adventure. Each level has a small shaped board with a few letters already on it. You place words from your seven-letter rack in a straight line, connected to what's there, to reach the level's goal before you run out of words.

If you like Scrabble-style letter values but want something cozier, with goals, power-ups and a fox, this is for you.

Which devices can I play on?

iPhone and iPad.

Do I need internet or an account?

No. WordWild plays fully offline and there's nothing to sign up for. Your stars and progress are saved on your device.

Which words count?

Over 170,000 of them, from the ENABLE word list used in many word games. When the Lantern gives you a hint, it picks everyday words you'll actually know.

How do stars work?

Reach the goal and you win at least one star. A higher score earns more. Any words you didn't need turn into Fox Frenzy bonus points, so finishing early pays off.

What if I run out of words?

Once per attempt you can grab five extra words and keep going. Shuffling your rack is always free, and swapping letters costs one word.

Is it hard?

It starts gentle and ramps up. Levels are tagged Easy, Medium, Hard, Super Hard or Boss on the map, and every one is play-tested by a simulated player a hundred times so it's challenging but always beatable.

When can I play?

WordWild is coming soon to the App Store. Check back here for the download link.
